The Snuza Hero is the product that put Snuza on the map and remains Snuza's best selling baby monitor for the prevention of SIDS. The Hero is sold globally and has won numerous awards, prized as one of the best baby breathing monitors on the market. The Hero clips onto a baby's diaper and makes use of sensing technologies to monitor a baby's breathing through movement. The Hero makes use of vibration to rouse your baby should there be no movement for 15 seconds followed by an audible alarm 5 seconds thereafter should there be no further movement. The Hero is wireless and simple to use straight out of the box.

The Hero's design makes use of soft, rounded forms which are also echoed through the use of medical grade silicone used to enclose the sensor and provide the IP66 rating. Made from high quality, durable and chemical resistant materials the Hero has outstanding mechanical properties for reliability and piece of mind. The design carefully considers the ergonomics of a baby so that the Hero conforms to the babies body for consistent, accurate monitoring. The first Hero model was released in 2009 and a number of iterations have been made to the design over the years. The initial model had a concealed battery that was meant to last the life of the product (1 year), this was updated to have a replaceable battery however, the battery was quite specialised and not easy for consumers to buy at a local supermarket. The design was updated further to fit a more common battery size. With each iteration, the product has been improved to offer increased reliability and better user experience. I have been involved as the lead designer at every iteration stage. The Hero now comes in 3 different models with varying degrees of functionality, including a medically certified model called the Hero MD. Discover more about the Hero here.
